gagner and prv for Enroth seems high. Leopold is just a stop gap and really why would you make that trade now? You miss the year and you trading for a UFA.

Finally... a blog that isnt about cba. I was gunna write a blog about eklunds rumour but I had Pajaarvi and gags for sekera and enroth. I figure if we got enroth they would have to take back khabby tho we would also have to add in another prospect

Pretty much. Said it all along, teams aren't making the salary dumps this summer as they don't know if they need to or not. Why make a trade like Gomez+ for a lessor bad contract when you could get a free buyout once the CBA is done?

Yep, which might make the couple days after the cba gets settled really interesting

The Oil can not possibly be after Leopold can they? At the very least a Dman would have to go the other way.

I also dont buy that Enroth is worth the risk. Is he a legit #1 guy? Remains to be seen.

If I'm the Oil the only guy I move right now is Hemsky if there is a good return.

the PRV and Gagner for Leopold and Enroth seems like the dummest trade, luckily Ek mentioned it so it won't come to fruition. Why would the oilers trade 2 of their top 9 forwards for a #5 dman and a goalie who could play 30 games this year?

imagine Horcoff being our second line center again

I too dont like the deal for either side. I dont see how leopold is anything more than whitney. If the oilers arent going to get a legitimate top 4 dman or an additional really good d prospect you may as well just keep what you have for the time being. Keep your assets until something pops up that is more your needs. The oilers should try and pull ryan o'reilly out of colorado, i think he would be a great 2nd line center going forward.

Luke Adam is a 6'2 playmaking center he has nice offensive potential / upside. Big draw back is his defensive zone coverage. He fell out of grace with ruff for not being a 2 way center.

Also drafting Grigorenko / Girgensons showed that the Sabres are ready to move on without him. Thats why his name is on the trading block

McNabb is highly valued by Darcy Regier. I doubt they would be willing to move him. I think they would be willing to move Leopold, but I really don;t think any of this trade talk is valid anyways.

That actually sounds like a good fit here. Is he physical? I dont understand how gagner would be a fit with the sabres tho.

I don't see the fit, a bigger unproven version of Gagner.

Hodgson a "smurf"? He's 6 feet and plays about 190 right now. Not a giant; definitely not a "smurf".

Richard since when has buffalo soured on armia? We just signed him to his elc 2 weeks ago. Armia is a huge prt of the sabres future. As is mcnabb. The sabres wont trade either of those guys for gagner, a bubble 2nd -3rd line center who cant play on a consistant basis night in and night out.

Im trying to make the gagner haters happy. Id rather keep him. Its a better fit then that leopold trade

How does it work when the CBA finally expires? I would think teams can't sign anyone, as there are no longer any active rules for the contracts to adhere to...
